Windsor Regional Pump Station

The Town of Windsor, CO commissioned a pump station to accomplish two goals: 1) provide irrigation water from Windsor Lake to irrigate six (6) existing sites within the Town and 2) deliver irrigation water to the Greenspire Subdivision Secondary Supply Irrigation System. Aqua Engineering effectively designed a single pump station to perform both goals.

Water from Windsor Lake is pumped into the Town’s pressurized distribution irrigation mainline system and conveyed to each site for connection to existing or future irrigation systems. Additionally a separate meter and pressurized distribution irrigation mainline system provides irrigation water to the Greenspire Subdivision’s Secondary Supply Irrigation System.

The pump station was a joint project between the Town of Windsor and Lot Holding, developer of the Greenspire Subdivision.

The Town owns and operates the pump station and bills the Metro District according to meter readings. This pump station was sized for a flow rate of 4,600 GPM during peak irrigation season demand with 2,200 GPM being supplied to the Town’s irrigation systems and 2,400 GPM being supplied to the Greenspire Secondary Supply Irrigation System.

Aqua Engineering acted as the project lead and hired local sub-consultants for structural, electrical, and architectural services.
