West Bank Expressway

The West Bank Expressway project located in New Orleans, LA is a multi-phase beautification project. The project extends across approximately 10-miles of expressway and includes intersections and pedestrian zones. A fully automated irrigation system includes sprays, drip zones, and a central irrigation computer system.

Landscape material located under the expressway structure has different water requirements than the landscape material exposed to natural precipitation. Fourteen irrigation controllers operate a drip and sprinkler irrigation system, and the trees, shrubs, turf, and areas under the expressway structure are all irrigated separately. Single and multi-outlet drip emitters irrigate shrubs, ground cover, and trees. Zone control valves and isolation gate valves permit isolation of sections for repairs or maintenance.

A central control system operates the satellite controllers throughout the 10-mile project from a single, easy-access location.
