Fossil Ridge High School

Fossil Ridge High School is Colorado’s first LEED® Silver certified school, and Aqua Engineering was excited at the opportunity to participate in this rewarding project. Our emphasis on water-conserving irrigation systems as well as the use of alternative water sources allowed us to contribute to this challenging effort.

A storage pond using a raw water delivery system acts as the water source for this 40-acre irrigated site. Our engineers specified the use of a lake aeration system to maintain a high level of irrigation water quality. The use of water efficient irrigation products contributes toward satisfying Water Efficiency Credit 1.1 under LEED.

In addition to designing the raw water delivery system, Aqua Engineering also provided mechanical system designs for the pumping system. This 3,000 GPM station provides pressurized irrigation water to the high school, adjacent elementary school, and even a future park site. Master planning, construction document preparation, and construction observation services were also provided.
