San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery

Set amongst the rolling hills, oak trees and almond orchards of California, San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery is an ideal location to honor our nation’s veterans. The burial sites are encompassed by native grasses whose earthy tones transform from season to season. In 2005, Aqua Engineering was contracted to prepare irrigation and pumping system master plan and construction documents for this site.

The master plan includes a review of the existing lift station, distribution piping, on-site pond, and existing irrigation system. In order to optimize irrigation being applied to the site, a computerized hydraulic model was developed to determine irrigation piping and required improvements.

The master plan made recommendations to several elements of the system, including:
  • Improvements to the lift station
  • Improvements to distribution piping
  • Expansion of the on-site pond
  • Pond aeration
  • Installation of an on-site irrigation pumping and filtration system
  • New irrigation system for Phase 1
  • New Centralized control system for the entire site
Currently, Aqua Engineering is providing construction observation services, and has received accolades from the client relating to the quality of our design.
